Architects:  Orange Architects Location:  Beirut ,  Lebanon Client:    Masharii,  Beirut Structural Engineer:  Senmar Engineering & Consultants,  Beirut Project Area:  19 apartments, 3600 m2 (surface), 50m (height) Project Year:  2011-2013 Orange Architects , a partnership between Dutch architecture firms  JSA ,  CIMKA   and HofmanDujardin , shared with us their design of a luxury apartment block on Plot 941 in Sin el Fil, an eastern district of  Beirut . The design was commissioned by the Lebanese development corporation Masharii.  The 50-metre-tall block will contain 19 apartments ranging in size from 90 to 180 m2. Kaohsiung Port Station Urban Design Competition Winning Proposal by de Architekten Cie. De Architekten Cie. , Jason Lee and Patrick Koschuch, has won the open international Kaohsiung  Port Station Urban Design competition in  Kaohsiung ,  Taiwan . The competition was initiated by the city government of  Kaohsiung  to transform the derelict site of the old railyards and port station from a barrier between two important areas of the city (the Hamasen and Yancheng districts), into a connective piece of the urban fabric. The stated ambitions by the client for the 15.42 hectare site are to highlight the cultural heritage of the site’s former function while introducing new programmes and building volume to accommodate city expansion. Connecting Dangi-li Power Plant (which has a plan to be redeveloped into public cultural space) in the north and The National Assembly Building in the south, this bridge shows the first example of ‘a city expanded to the river’. As a futuristic and aesthetic sculptor over the Han River, Paik Nam June Media Bridge shows how to use spaces over the bridge efficiently and eco-friendly. Inspired by the water strider, the overall shape is organic with sleek, streamlined outline. Moh architects   is a Vienna based group of architects dedicated to developing an innovative approach towards architecture, urbanism and design. Their work encompasses both methodical research as well as the application of innovative design strategies through built work. The Askim Museum Competition was about designing a museum for a private art collection. The functional program of roughly 2800 sqm had to be embedded in the surrounding  urban fabric  in an intelligent way, credibly delivering a strong figure/anchor for the region while not overpowering the delicate natural backdrop. The site given is located on sloped terrain, slightly elevated from the nearby city center. It is connected through a single road which terminates at a derelict quarry.
